Portrait of the artist: Sandra Chang

Interview with artist Sandra Chang Sandra Chang: Boyfriends. Some times I paint them in fantasy art. Depending on how I'm being treated, they're either depicted as the hero or a chair. JH: Sounds like you like to be the aggressive one in a relationship. SC: Not really. I just believe if a girl doesn't keep her man in his place, he becomes an unruly pet. JH: That says a lot. Speaking of pets, what's up with those little dogs? SC: Dagney and Hendrix are my two most prized possessions. They were born to be painted. JH: They look like rats. SC: Do you have any idea how hard it is to breathe with a cracked rib? JH: I'm suppose to be asking the questions. Bondage seems to be a re-occurring theme for you. Your fetish of choice? SC: You'd be surprised how many women have toyed with the idea. Personally, I'm not into the pain thing but I do like the accessories. Most people don't have a clue what a dog collar can do for their image. JH: Uh, yeah. You've been called the undisputed "Queen of Comic Erotica". Any plans on defending that title? SC: If it happens,
it happens. I'll always support any artist with the guts to paint what
they feel- as long as it's sexy. By the way, Queens are old hags. Call
me the Princess. Anything else?
